April Fool's Day is a day where people pull harmless pranks on each other.

April Fools Day has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures, its exact origins remain a mystery.

We believe that April Fools Day started in 1582.  Back in the day, as pranks people would put fish on each others backs and call each other April fish.  April Fools Day spread throughout Britain in the 18th century. In Scotland, April Fools Day became a 2 day event!

Here in Australia April Fools Day is just a fun day where we can play tricks on each other, as long as they are safe, and not too mean!

Get one mentos piece and attach a pin to a string, thread the pin and string through the mentos then leave the string in the mentos so the string is sticking out. Then take the pin out but leave the string in put the string connected to the top of a full coke bottle. Then cut the string that is hanging out of the cap on both sides and then give it to a friend.

You could put an egg in a cereal box, then when a person wants that cereal they will pour it into their bowl and the egg will splat!

Balloon cake - You blow up a balloon and then ice it, put on sprinkles and leave it on the table. When you try and cut it, it will pop.

Mash potato and black bean cookies - Mash some potatoes and roll the mashed potatoes into balls add in some black beans and cook them like normal cookies. Sit back and watch! 

Jelly cup - Make some red jelly and poor it into a cup let it set and pretend to throw it. the person will think it’s a type of soft drink
