International Women's Day

On Friday the 8th of March International Women’s Day was celebrated. This day is celebrated to recognise all women in history. We celebrated this day by interviewing some amazing women in our community, and creating posters of them. We also created posters of famous women throughout history who have inspired the eyes of many.

The day before International Women’s Day we asked the main women in our lives to come for morning tea. We also asked them to bring a platter of food to share around. Before morning tea we went around asking all the mums, sisters etc. to share their job(s) and their greatest achievement. We found it interesting and inspiring to listen to all of people’s achievements.

We did lots of fun and amazing activities for International Women’s Day. We created detailed posters of famous women, for example Marie Curie, Frida Kahlo, Helen Keller, Mother Teresa and Cleopatra. We also invited the women of people’s families to come and be interviewed. We drew portraits of women who came to the interview.

We had an amazing time finding facts about lots of inspirational women and women in our lives.

You should also celebrate international women’s day like we did and fight for women’s rights as they are amazing and don’t deserve to be under men.
